Self-service system puts trade and private advertisers in control

Fast-growing Dutch regional publisher BDUmedia is bolstering self-service with an installation of Wave 2's AdPortal.

Integrated as part of their existing advertising system, the new advertising portal is part of an expansion programme that targets a number of new regions after BDU acquired 46 titles last year.

It will provide building, scheduling and payment for classified and ROP adverts, and be used by both private and trade advertisers. No human interaction or involvement will be required to accept, process and deliver the advertisements to the large number of publications offered.

Advertisers can select from a wide range of templates to submit content, with the templates not only automating production, but also ensuring control over ad size, colour, images and fonts. The underlying composition engine is Adobe's InDesign Server, which provides a headless web-services-based version of the application.

BDUmedia now reaches 1.5 million households and 3.75 million readers throughout the Netherlands, with more than 65 fully owned titles and as co-publisher of another 36. Wave 2 is part of the Miles 33 Group.
