DRUPA introduction leads to colour control order

A relationship initiated at DRUPA has led to an order for a full colour control system for Italian commercial printer ACM.

QI Press Controls will install its IDS-3D and mRC-3D systems for colour control, colour register and cut-off.

ACM general manager Giuseppe Gentile says the deal represents a "fantastic investment" and a basis for a strong strategic partnership. Located in Torre del Greco at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, the company wanted a new automation system for its recently acquired KBA Compacta 618 press. Five mRC-3D cameras for colour register and cut-off control and two IDS-3D cameras for colour control will be installed.

The two companies were introduced via KBA at DRUPA, where they initially showed interest in closed-loop colour control only. Gentile says equipping their newly acquired press with the system would help them access new markets: "The QIPC systems mean we are in a much better position to provide our clients with a finished product that is even better in terms of quality."
