A new Tensor T460 heatset press at Todo Para Impresiones brings the latest automation and quality control features to the Mexico City printer.

The new model replaces the T500 - originally introduced in 2006 - and has unit shaftless drives, and an 11-roller ink train (including three ink forme rollers), as well as remote ink control and closed loop register.

The Mexico City press has a gas dryer, plough folder and ribbon deck for producing a 12-page tabloid or six-page broadsheet.

"It´s always exciting to see the first copies coming off a new press model," says Tensor chief operating officer Mike Pavone. "The T460 is in many aspects based on designs from our other press models and we have targeted to build an affordable press that can produce high end semicommercial work.

"The T460 is living up to our expectations and we have a very nice showroom at GT Impressiones."

Todo Para Impresiones, part of Grupo Sago Industries, is extending magazine capacity and also wants to attract new customers and market segments by offering a more diversified range of print products.

The installation was completed in two steps - first retrofitting DCOS drive and controls on an existing DGM press and replacing the existing closed loop register system, ahead of the new press installation. Both are inline and can be operated independently or as one.
