Standard order takes ppi into Kenya

Workflow specialist ppi Media has entered the Kenyan market with a major order for Standard Group.

The Nairobi publisher placed the order for planning, production, advertising and editorial workflow soluitions at the World Publishing Expo in Berlin.

With a 30 per cent market share, the Standard is the largest daily newspaper in Kenya, with print, online, mobile, broadcast and TV products. It implement AdX –will integrate both the SAP IS-M/AM ad management system and the ad server – and ppi Media's cross-media editorial content system Content-X..

The order also includes PlanPag, together with its integrated classified ad pagination system AdPag, ad reservation system AdDispo and page assembly system ProPag. The Standard has al aso opted for a cross-media preflight solution which checks content according to requirements for a specific medium. a

• ppi Media have also announced the signing of a letter of intent by Thilo Grickschat and Frank Best, managing directors of Westfalen-Blatt for newspaper planning, page production, classified pagination and ad production workflow solutions.

At the heart of the new production workflow, PlanPag will be used for planning and production, including page assembly. It will also connect to the ad booking system – via AdMan – and to the editorial system using standard interfaces.
