After 20 years leading ppi Media, Norbert Ohl is joining the advisory board of rival CCI Europe and Escenic.
The former chief executive who guided ppi through the insolvency of parent manroland and the subsequent sale of both, will become a strategic advisor for the two Scandinavian publishing systems technology companies.
In a statement, they say Norbert Ohl "brings vast experience" from the publishing technology industry.
Ohl, currently an independent consultant, describes his new role as "the perfect challenge".
"Media corporations today are facing big questions, such as how to ensure viable business models, how to work with new channels, and how to make their organisations more efficient. For technology vendors, this is a time for huge investments in innovation," he says. "That is why I'm truly excited to be joining CCI."
CCI chief executive Dan Korsgaard says they have known each other "as a good colleague in the industry" for many years and is happy to have him on their team: "Norbert has one of the strongest track records in the industry, and his expertise is a perfect match for us."
Born in 1964, Norbery Ohl has a M.Sc. in computer science and business administration, and joined Hamburg-based ppi Media as a consultant in 1996, becoming chief executive the same year.
