Old-style typefaces and tiny headlines feature as Adelaide's The Advertiser takes online readers back to its past today, with an impression of how it might have looked 16 decades ago.

Readers can click across to a contemporary version.

The News Corp Australia newspaper - which celebrates its 160th anniversary today - is also the one handling out the birthday presents, with a $1 million advertising shareout.

Fifteen winners have been drawn in the 'Business Booster' campaign, with each awarded print and digital advertising, search, social, video, marketing and creative services, and data solutions through News Corp. Five major prize recipients also win marketing off News Corp's platform

The competition is an apt one for The Advertiser, the front page of which contained mostly classified advertising when it first appeared on July 12, 1858.
