A groundbreaking programme to jumpstart digital transformation in newsrooms of all sizes is the subject of a special session at the America East conference next month.

Accelerating digital transformation in the newsroom is based on Table Stakes, a programme led by Poynter, Temple University, the Lenfest Institute and the Knight Foundation, and participants will discuss their experiences and learnings, and how the programme can help other newsrooms.

Speakers are Stan Wischnowski, senior vice president and executive editor of the Philadelphia Media Network (which is owned by Lenfest), Neil Chase, executive editor of the San Jose Mercury News, and Ron Southwick who is assistant managing editor-digital of Pennsylvania's Reading Eagle. Moderator is John Kirkpatrick of JAK3 Consulting.

The America East Media Business & Technology conference is being held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from March 12-14. Registration details are here.

Also announced is a presentation by GateHouse Media executive director of promotions Rebecca Capparelli on accelerating revenue growth through promotions. It's an opportunity to learn how publications can increase revenue, engagement, data and advertiser growth through reader promotions, sponsored promotions and custom advertiser promotions.

Capparelli also addresses the strong value proposition around promotions for advertisers, with promotions designed to increase website traffic, social interaction and social audiences, email databases and in-store traffic, as well as to collect rich data.
