Dutch used machinery specialist GWS has sold a 16-page manroland Rotoman heatset press to Modern Arab Establishment for Printing & Publishing in Egypt.

The company will also supply a complete post press system including a trimming line, compensating stacker and log stacker.

GWS commercial director Eric van Kessel says the sale follows the supply of a KBA semicommercial press to the El Abbasia, Cairo, printer in 2014.

"This time GWS is supplying a full commercial heatset press, capable of producing top quality print," he says. "This follows the trend of increased quality demand in the Egyptian market for book printing."

Egypt representative Sami Adam says the press and post press system will be handed over before the end of this year, with full production scheduled for the first quarter of 2017.
