Two Manugraph presses at Jagran Prakashan will be upgraded with automatic colour registration as the company rolls out the technology across its production sites.

The order - one of two announced by the supplier - follows a number of projects in which QI Press Controls has installed its IRS, mRC+ and mRC-3D systems across more than 100 towers in the publisher's plants over the last three years. This time, the new mRC-3D colour register system is being added to six-tower Manugraph Cityline Express presses in Allahabad and Muzaffarpur.

The 24 cameras will be fitted with ink mist shields, and the two companies are talking about further upgrades including ink ductor control, quality management and even colour control. Current systems are helping deliver consistent colour quality and reducing start-up times. QIPC-EAE India managing director Vijay Pandya says continued investment in an already excellent relationship will result in mutual benefits well into the future.

One of India's largest media conglomerates, the Jagran group publishes 12 print titles in five different languages across 15 states and with more than 100 editions.

• At Lokmat Media, QI will install register control at printing sites in Nashik and Mumbai, which are equipped with new Orient newspaper presses. The order covers 12 mRC-3D cameras for register and cut-off control for Nashik and ten for Mumbai, all with ink mist shields. Here the relationship goes "way back".

"I am glad that the organisation is convinced about the benefits of our systems," says Pandya.

Lokmat Media has a diversified portfolio of publishing, broadcast, digital, entertainment, community and sports activities and more than 3000 staff. Lokmat claims 23.5 million readers and is the top Marathi newspaper in Maharashtra and Goa states with 11 editions and a circulation of 1.4 million copies.
