DRUPA 2020 gets a holiday push forward

Giant trade show DRUPA is being brought forward to avoid getting in the way of the holidays.

Organisers have announced that the 2020 event will be held from June 16-26 - instead of June 23-July 3 - to avoid clashing with holiday dates in some European countries as well as German states.

Messe Düsseldorf president and chief executive Werner Dornscheidt says most holiday dates had not been published when the decision was made to stick with the four-year show cycle: "Now we are really pleased that we can offer this solution although there is hardly any room for manoeuvre in the packed trade fair year."

A shorter stand construction period also makes the decision easier, and Dornscheidt says they are "delighted to be able to act in our customers' interest by kicking off one week earlier than originally planned".
