Indian online publishing, distribution and retail-services company Ezinemart has made more than 75 magazines titles available free online in an effort to drive interest in digital reading. “We wanted to inspire youth and teenagers – those accustomed to obtaining and consuming all their content digitally – to read these titles,” says chief executive Santoh Kumar. “We also wanted to showcase the on-screen reading experience. Among the titles at www.ezinemart.com are ‘India Today’, ‘Outlook’, ‘Stardust’, ‘New Women’, ‘Mens Health’ and ‘Linux for You’. “The concept of picking up a magazine online and reading it cover-to-cover is foreign to many people,” Kumar says. The magazines have their own section in the ezinemart online digital mall, and can be viewed in high resolution format. Ezinemart is also partnering with several publishers to extend the reach of these magazines.
