US-based International Newspaper Group has timed its annual conference in the run-up days ahead of Print17 in Chicago.

The conference at the city's Hyatt Regency hotel is being held on Saturday (September 9) ahead of the opening of Print 17, where exhibition organisers have a pavilion dedicated to newspaper print production.

The collaboration with ING also sees additional special newspaper-orientated programmes and gatherings for production managers.

Ahead of the event, ING will welcome delegates for a reception on Friday evening.

The conference programme (Saturday) starts with the group's board meeting and continues with sessions, presentations and networking. On Sunday morning, ING has a special kickoff presentation program from Print17 before the show opens at midday.

President Joe Bowman says most production executives suffer from the same malady - newspaper print production-induced insomnia: "It can be triggered by many factors like figuring how to make more money from print, finding dependable service/support, staff issues and more," he says. "That's why this year's ING Conference is dedicated to helping you find remedies that really work."

Among issues were finding dependable service/support, cutting waste, encouraging employee engagement, productivity and morale, and luring qualified technicians to your company.
