After three years as head of production for KBA and almost two years leading its industrial solutions subsidiary, Michael Kummert is moving on.

The role of managing director of KBA-Industrial Solutions - which provides internal and external manufacturing services - has passed to co-director Martin Kraus.

Kummert held various management positions at roller bearing manufacturer SKF before joining KBA as executive vice-president for production in 2012, and managed the restructuring of production at Würzburg and Radebeul, establishing the independent manufacturing profit centre. He was also responsible for KBA-Gießerei in Würzburg, KBA-Grafitec in the Czech Republic and Albert-Frankenthal in south-western Germany. He left at the end of December to seek "new career challenges".

Martin Kraus (pictured) joined the company as head of production in June 2015, and became co-managing director last April. He had previously held management responsibility in several companies of the Bosch group over a period of almost 15 years.

KBA says he has contributed very actively to further efficiency enhancement in the restructured manufacturing centres. He will be assisted by commercial director Markus Weber and at the Radebeul location by head of production Imke Kellner.

KBA-Industrial Solutions has a total workforce of about 1000 employees at the two plants.
