Sponsorship opens benchmarking initiative

An Australian benchmarking initiative for print operations as part of the Future Print business transformation project is being sponsored by superannuation fund Media Super.

The free service is offered online to those who have registered for the project, through benchmarking.com.

Future Print advisor Richard Rasmussen (right) says benchmarking is a ‘reality check’: “Without an accurate comparison measure, most of us tend to be overly optimistic about our position.

“Benchmarking provides a very clear picture of how your business is tracking against other similar organisations across key performance indicators so you can realistically assess your situation, see where improvements can be made and set goals for your business development,” he says.

The process “should take less than an hour”, with online data input of KPIs from 2013-2014 financial reports… and is free of charge, thanks to the sponsorship.

Rasmussen says the programme is run by an external specialist and secure login is required to access the site; neither Future Print nor Printing Industries has access.
