ppi Media has strengthened its presence in the Asia Pacific with the appointment of David Page as regional business development manager.

Previously managing director of DTI Asia Pacific and vice president of sales and marketing for SII/net-linx, he takes on responsibility for southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

He will focus on the challenges of providing a smooth and cost-effective transition for prospects and customers into the cross-channel world of print, web, mobile and other digital technologies.

ppi Media says it is paying particular attention to these regional markets and the upcoming needs of existing and prospective customers. "Our solutions provide for cost-effective, sustainable transformation projects," says chief operating officer Hauke Berndt.

"With his previous history in the Asia Pacific market, ppi Media is very confident in

announcing the appointment of David Page to represent us."

Hamburg-headquartered ppi has an established customer base in the region including Post Publishing, which produces the English-language daily Bangkok Post and other publications on ppi's Content-X technology.

Now living on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, David Page started a career in newspapers with roles at his local newspaper in Canterbury, UK, and worked with Linotype-Paul during the introduction of computerised phototypesetting.

Among first commitments following his March 1 appointment will be to attend WAN-Ifra's Publish Asia conference in Kuala Lumpur (April 18-20).
