Atex says cloud deployment has become the infrastructural choice for new websites powered by its DM.Polopoly platform, with a number of new initiatives in Europe and North America.

"A common denominator has been very short implementation and go live times," says marketing director Gian Camillo Vezzoli.

In Norway, Agderposten Medier launched a common technology platform for news creation and publishing at the beginning of the year, hosted by Atex on Amazon AWS. Driving their move is a strategy to share resources, development and innovation between their own web sites and with other publishers.

After the successful launch, other partners are joining the alliance and in the last month three publishers announced their web sites are now live. Among sites are http://www.hallingdolen.no and http://www.bomlo-nytt.no

In Sweden, Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen has opted to go with Atex Managed Services, where their web sites will be moved on the Amazon Cloud and supported 24/7 by Atex staff. See http://nlt.se

Also in Sweden, publishing group Stampen implemented a new platform last year for quick web initiatives deployment, which has seen so far six titles being implemented - http://www.gp.se, http://www.hallandsposten.se, http://www.bohuslaningen.se, http://www.ttela.se, http://www.stromstadstidning.se and http://www.hn.se.

In Canada, iHeartRadio - a music and live events streaming service from Bell Media - went live last October on DM.Polopoly as part of the broadcasting group's strategy to implement a common management platform for all their web properties: http://www.iheartradio.ca/home

Leading newspapers of Salerno and the Abruzzo region in Italy, La Città and Il Centro have been spun off from the Finegil regional group in the first months of this year, and have gone live as independent publications on Atex Managed Services and cloud hosting with Elmec. The sites are http://www.lacittadisalerno.it and http://ilcentro.it
