New ideas on asset management at WPE

German newspaper systems developer Red.Web will premiere Atlas asset management software at WPE in Berlin.

Development director Oliver Andrich will show a prototype of the system at the WAN-Ifra World Publishing Expo event, and has a beta user speaking at the show.

“We know that content is the capital of media and publishing houses, and the content is becoming more diverse,” he says. “Our Atlas product allows it to be managed, and media-neutral asset types can be defined and organised hierarchically.”

With the system, metadata is automatically provided, adapted, enhanced and inherited automatically and tagged, while textual information is classified. “This has many advantages for the editorial life,” he says. “For example, it automatically assigns relationships between content so that journalists can find relevant content – and thus interesting contextual information – faster.”

The company will also show new app production and publishing organization modules.

Joachim Braun, editor in chief of North Kurier, which has been using the new software since January this year, is a speaker at the WPE MediaPort on October 7.
