Danish publisher Nordjyske Medier is upgrading its Wifag OF370 in a modular programme developed by ABB.

Based in Aalborg, Nordjyske is the publisher of Nordjyske Stiftstidende.

The upgrade covers three main areas - the first seeing AMK drives on one tower of the OF370 press replaced with ABB ACSM1 drives, while the second covers the replacement of the obsolete Wifag positioning systems on that tower. ABB's replacement APOS is based on its Advant Controller AC500 PLC.

Finally, upgrades to the four existing control consoles will use new PC hardware and application software to move Nordjyske Medier to a new touchscreen-compatible version of ABB's MPS Control Console.

Commissioning is expected in the first quarter of 2018.
