QI Press Controls has announced new appointments in Brazil and the Netherlands.

Nielson Fernando takes over as managing director of the press control technology company's Latin America subsidiary, replacing Júlio Coutinho.

The 37-year-old will launch a new office in São Paulo, Brazil, where he lives. His background includes sales in different markets following qualification in mechatronic engineering and a Masters in industrial processes automation and control

QI managing director Menno Jansen says he has great trust in Nielson, despite his limited experience in the graphic industry: "Nielson has sufficient sales experience, has a drive and the entrepreneurship to accept this heavy task. Of course we will have to train him related to our industry. Skills such as good listening, persuading and persevering are just in his character."

Also announced is the appointment of Mathijs Baron as sales executive for the south of Europe, the UK and South Africa. He replaces Christian Janse.

Baron (28) comes from Oosterhout in the Netherlands, but spent the last half year of his studies on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, obtained a teaching degree in 2009 and went to live and work in Beijing.
