Hollywood and Disney lure News Australia's Bowen

Two of News Corp Australasia's top female executives - Alisa Bowen and Susan Panuccio - are heading Stateside.

Chief technology officer Bowen is joining the Walt Disney Company as senior vice president of digital media, after a four-year career with News. She was promoted from group director of digital and product development last year.

She is returning to the US, where she worked for News business units Dow Jones (as chief product officer) and the Wall Street Journal (as general manager of its digital network).

News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller says Australia's loss is Hollywood's gain: "While I am saddened to see Alisa go, I understand and respect her decision to pursue an exciting new career opportunity in another industry."

News will restructure digital product and technology operations in Australia as a result, bringing several roles within News Digital Networks, led by Nicole Sheffield, NewsMediaWorks has reported. The consumer, circulation and marketing technology team and the digital product ad platform team, led by Clive Parsons and Dominic Hatfield respectively, also will sit inside News DNA.

Last month chief financial officer Susan Panuccio accepted a similar position at the parent company in New York.
