Contractor speaks the language in French upgrade

Goss Community and DGM towers are to be updated at La Charente Libre in Angoulême, France, following an order for automatic colour register controls.

QI Press Controls will install 12 of its mRC-3D cameras in the project at the plant, part of the Bordeaux-headquartered Sud-Ouest Group. Technical director Michel Gonzalez says he is expecting not only improvements in the end-product, but also savings in waste during start-and printing, as a result.

The company prints mainly small-circulation newspapers on night shift, and "too many copies are having to be thrown away at the moment".

A bonus in the choice of contractor is being able to communicate in French, with Pierre Borot of agent Techniweb a native-speaking intermediary. Techniweb was involved in the decision-making process and is also helping with the installation and training.
