A new category to encourage innovation to engage youth audiences has been added to the Asian Digital Media Awards in the lead up to this year's Young Reader's Prize.
Organisers WAN-Ifra are looking for entries that demonstrate strong evidence of the publishing company's success in engaging youth audiences - especially children and teenagers - around any kind of initiative, "including but not limited to news literacy, editorial and public service".
The new "innovation to engage youth audiences" award category is simultaneously launched in the Asia Pacific and South Asia as well as North America, Latin America and Africa. In 2018, it will also integrate European and Middle East Digital Awards.
The Asian Digital Media Awards recognise publishers who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major changes in how people consume news and information today.
Entries can be submitted from May 1 to June 16.
Categories include Best News Website, Data Visualisation, Innovation Product, Lifestyle, Sports or Entertainment Website, News Mobile Service, Social Media Engagement, Use of Online Video (including VR), Lifestyle, Sports or Entertainment Mobile Service, Digital Advertising Campaign (including Branded Content), and Best Innovation to Engage Youth Audiences.
Entries will be evaluated by a jury of media experts from leading media companies around the world, with winners honoured during Digital Media Asia in Singapore in November. Winners go forward to the World Digital Media Awards.
