A hybrid press - including units dating to more than three decades ago - will be only the third in France to install QI Press Controls closed-loop colour system.
The 2008 Goss Uniliner press at La Nouvelle République in Tours in central-west France includes three towers and a folder from a 1988 Creusot Loire Visa -a combination of generations - some with EAE controls - which makes automation and control of them tailor-made, but printing company director Laurent Lanos is confident the partners can make it work: "It was logical to extend this to the rest of our press, with QIPC the natural partner," he says.
QIPC-EAE will install its IDS-3D colour control system with automatic ink mist mhield and dampening control, while the EAE system will be extended to the Visa, Print PP system will be installed along with two new control consoles as part of a PC retrofit.
"We are counting on more consistency and higher quality - we want to ensure our production for the next ten years," says Lanos.
La Nouvelle République du Centre Ouest will be the third newspaper printing house in France to use the QI closed-loop colour control system.
