Press peripherals specialist QI Press Controls says it has closed the first quarter of this year with “phenomenal” sales of 1.8 million Euros… and a very happy customer at ‘The Hindu’ in India.

The Dutch-based company will supply a fully-automated colour and register system to Polaris Trykk in Trondheim Norway, part of a group which owns four print facilities in the country.

The mRC+, IDS and IQM systems will be fitted to two presses, a ten-tower Goss Universal and a four-(satellite) tower KBA Commander. It will be the first time the IDS system has been installed on a Goss newspaper press, the the first Honeywell IDS integration, and the oldest press the company has retrofitted.

An mRC+ system at ‘The Hindu’ in Bangalore has gone live on a two-tower Mitsubishi DiamondSpirit oly weeks after the order was placed by the press maker.

QIPC India managing director Vijay Pandya says the first order received

from Mitsubishi and ‘The Hindu will be “a very important reference”

in order to increase its installed base in an area in which there is a lot of

potential growth.
