Mike Moore talks of "joining the Naviga team", but the impact of the US-headquartered company's acquisition of the UK one is not yet clear.

Having bought Tera and net-linx more than a decade ago, Miles has customers throughout the world, including at Kompas and the New Straits Times in Asia, as well as higher-profile global clients such as the Vatican.

The deal, announced yesterday, sees Naviga Inc acquiring Miles 33 "and its customers", expanding its global presence in the UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific. Chief executive Scott Roessler talks of the combination of Miles 33's patented technology with Naviga's Content Engagement Platform to "further advance the capabilities available to publishing teams" allowing a "single and unified platform" to drive audience engagement, advertising sales, content management and digital media commerce.

"The combined business will deliver enhanced product offerings, extended service capabilities, and broadened technical and global publishing expertise," he says.

For Moore (pictured), the "mission" continues, although no further details of how this will work are available. Development and business system director John Skarin and operations and content management director Peter Meek have been with Miles 33 since 1989 and 1983. Publishing systems director Chris Habasinski dates his relationship with the company to 1982.

Marketing vice president Albert de Bruijn joined with the acquisition of net-linx in 2008, having worked for Atex and SII, while Malaysia-based Joe Liew came from Televisual, which Miles acquired in 2009.

Moore says both Miles 33 and Naviga "believe deeply that together the businesses will better serve customers."
