A partnership with CellMark sees Norske Skog switch its Singapore sales operations from Pan Asia Paper Trading.
The two companies say they have agreed a long term marketing agreement for sales of publication paper in Asian markets.
A new distributor in Singapore, NorCell Asia will have exclusive marketing rights for all Norske Skog products sold in the Asian markets, and will take over current sales operations and Singapore sales staff of PanAsia Paper Trading.
The two partners set up a similar arrangement in North America in August 2011. Norske Skog says experiences from this cooperation have triggered expansion of the cooperation into Asian markets.
Norske Skog chief executive Sven Ombudstvedt says the common goal is to offer customers “a broader range of solutions” while maximising efficiency and minimising supply chain costs.
CellMark chief executive Hans Kling says the agreement significantly strengthens his company’s position in sales of publication grades into Asia.
Norske Skog expects to free up about US$15-20 million in working capital as a result of the Asian cooperation, which started this month.
