Goss International has lured packaging executive Mike D’Angelo to be its first managing director for the Americas.
D’Angelo has worked for Swiss packaging machinery maker Bobst since 1982, most recently leading its web-fed products business unit, and was a member of its North America executive committee.
In the new role, he joins an evolving Goss, which sees its future growth in packaging and converting as much as in newspaper and publication print and mailroom products. Goss is shortly to open a packaging technology centre opening in Durham, New Hampshire, while the larger Americas operation is one of four created for sales, service and support. The others are Europe, China and Asia.
Goss president and chief executive Rick Nichols says the appointment is in line with a transformation of the company’s organisational structure in response to changing customer requirements. “The environment that our customers operate in is fundamentally changing and, along with highly efficient and cost-effective technology, they are looking for increasingly responsive service and support capabilities to optimize the performance of that technology,” he says.
