Fujifilm Australia has recruited prepress workflow specialist Rich Ramirez from Kodak, ahead of a new product launch.

Ramirez’ 18 years experience parallels the development of CTP and associated workflows, and extends to time with Scitex Corporation in the USA, where he was heavily involved in the development, training and marketing of Brisque to Lotem workflows.

When Creo and Scitex merged to become CreoScitex he made his first visit to Australia to help set up the local demonstration and support facilities as applications and technical sales specialist. With the acquisition of that company by Kodak, he moved to Australia beginning a nine-year role in workflow and systems integration. Proficient in computer operating systems, internet languages, virtualisation, storage and network topologies, he also has team leadership skills and tertiary qualifications in economics and product marketing.

Graphic systems general manager, Lindsay Barnes says his appointment comes as the company is about to launch the new XMF-based architecture previewed at GraphExpo: “I am delighted to welcome such an experienced workflow professional to our team,” he says.

Ramirez (pictured) will be based in Sydney with national responsibilities.
