GIS president Randy Seidel was on home ground when the company supplied a reconditioned Goss NP1472 inserter to Edwards Printing.

"Originally developed by Harris Graphics, the 1472 was one of my early projects as a young engineer there decades ago," he says. "The technology is still quite relevant today and we optimize it for maximum efficiency."

The system has a five-to-one double-out capability at 50,000 copies per hour, and up to 11 into one at speeds up to 25,000 cph. The reconditioned system also features a repair system, a reject station for doubles and a jacket multi-opener, with a PC-based control system for zoning and features remote monitoring.

Edwards, based in Westminster, South Carolina, also reconditioned their Quipp 350 stacker.
