German workflow specialist ppi Media has scored Bangkok's leading English-language paper as a customer, just ahead of next month's World Newspaper Congress.

Post Publishing Public Company, which publishes the Bangkok Post, will use ppi systems for multimedia editorial, planning and booking solutions.

An order placed earlier this year also covers print workflow – including newspaper planning, classified pagination and page assembly solutions, and booking and reserving ads for print, web, radio and TV – for both Thai and English language publications.

More than 200 editorial and production staff will use the Content-X  editorial product - jointly developed by ppi Media and Digital Collections - for print, web and mobile editions of the Bangkok Post, Post Today and M2F publications.

The new editorial system will manage the entire content – including text, photos and video – in a single central database, enabling content to be reused and processed for different media channels with a minimum of effort.

The order follows "extensive evaluation" of editorial solutions to meet a vision of achieving editorial excellence, integration and multimedia support across different publishing channels.

Both ppi Media and Digital Collections are represented in southeast Asia by MediaLive in Singapore.
