Changing business models a theme in Bangkok

Digital publishers take the spotlight during Publish Asia 2015 in April.

The event in Bangkok, Thailand, from April 28-30 is expected to attract more than 400 media executives to discuss key issues currently changing the news publishing business.

Among speakers is Maria Ressa, chief executive and executive editor of Rappler, set to present the site's unique model of audience engagement which combines content crowdsourcing with data analytics.

From Ireland's largest media group, INM, group editor-in-chief Steven Rae will tell of the newsroom transformation which included the creation of a central editorial hub producing journalism for all of the group's news, sport and entertainment platforms - both online and print.

Group editor-in-chief of Thailand's Nation Multimedia Group Thepchai Yong will speak on the challenges for publishing companies to diversify in broadcasting. The multimedia company operates two digital TV channels and three daily newspapers. Yong is also a former director of the Thai Public Broadcasting Service.

Managing director of Dow Jones Asia Pacific and publisher of the Wall Street Journal Asia Mark Pope will share some of the WSJ's current top business priorities and give strategy insights for growing its business across Asian markets.
