A digital 'boot camp' with Deseret Digital Media is the latest attraction to be added to the World Publishing Expo programme in Hamburg.

Through a partnership between WAN-Ifra, The US-based Local Media Association, DDM's two-day event will "take a deep dive" into the Utah group's content and business models.

The Salt Lake City publisher's news sites, consumer services, social media channels and other digital projects have a global reach of more than 22 million monthly unique visitors, and nearly 100 million social media followers.

The boot camp will cover topics including native advertising, e-commerce, culture, separation of print and digital for both news and sales, events, social media, programmatic and video.

Among group executives on hand will be president Chris Lee.

Local Media Association president Nancy Lane says DDM is "one of the most successful case studies in our industry.

"They are truly transforming their media company. This BootCamp has been a game changer for the dozens of media companies that have already participated, and we are thrilled to partner with WAN-Ifra to bring it to Hamburg."

Registration for the Expo is now open, with details at: https://www.localmedia.org/training/deseret-digital-media-boot-camp/

The programme includes a Newsroom Summit (October 5), Mobile News Summit (October 6) and the World Printers Forum (October 7).

The BootCamp requires attendance of 40 or more so WAN-Ifra is asking for early registration; once the 40 mark is reached, attendees will be notified and they can then book flights.
