After leading the growth of Beacon Media's contract newspaper printing business, chief executive Simon Ellis is moving to New Zealand print giant PMP.
After five years in the top job at privately-owned Beacon Media - which publishes the triweekly Whakatane Beacon and other titles - he has been appointed managing director of PMP NZ. He is also president of NZ Community Newspapers Association. He has worked in newspapers since 1979.
Subsidiary Beacon Print has Goss Community-equipped print sites in Whakatane and Hastings, and prints its own titles and the southern North Island newspapers of NZME. (now APN New Zealand) for which Ellis was once northern regional manager.
Beacon Media consists of eight companies, the newest of which is Beacon Print Hawke's Bay.
