Media's smart women lead mentoring, hackathon

Mentors including Twitter Australia managing director Karen Stocks (pictured) and News Corp Australia director Alisa Bowen lead a one-day Women in Media Forum in August.

Presented by OMD and arranged by Women in Media Awards organiser B&T, it includes a keynote address, 'speed mentoring' and an afternoon hackathon tackling industry problems and presenting solutions. Three key areas are being identified by an online poll, and brainstormed by groups guided by table hosts.

The forum at is Randwick racecourse in Sydney on August 19.

Other mentors are Margie Reid (managing director of OMD Melbourne), Mim Haysom (general manager of M&C Saatchi), Lee Leggett (Australia chief executive of Initiative), Marina Go (general manager of Hearst Australia, Bauer Media and chair of Wests Tigers), Claire Salvetti (managing director of One Green Bean), Melinda Geertz (chief executive of Leo Burnett Melbourne), Cathy O'Connor (chief executive of Nova Entertainment), and Carolyn Bendall (general manager marketing of ANZ Australia).

The Women in Media Awards follow in the evening and featuring Gretel Killeen as MC.
