Founder of Indian prepress and systems supplier KGS Jogi Kohli has died while undergoing treatment in London.
A memorial service was held in New Delhi on July 20, following his death on July 1.
On Facebook, former employee Sunil Mahajan was among those paying tribute to a "great soul - we all learnt a lot under his able and noble leadership".
Kohli (74) founded Kohli Graphic Systems in 1982 after helping build up supplier and press manufacturer The Printers House, in which his family had an interest, making its mission to offer products of the world's leading graphic arts manufacturers and "be the most admired company in the Indian graphic arts industry".
Over the years, KGS has grown into an all-India organisation with offices and warehouses in all major metropolitan cities. Publishing related agencies include Atex, Comyan, Fujifilm, ECRM, FFEI and InfraLogic.
Early days speak of Kohli's pioneering work in technologies such as phototypesetting and colour scanning, and representation of Hell Gravure - one of several gravure-related agencies - had it foundations in a close relationship with scanning and engraving pioneer Dr. Ing Rudolf Hell.
Having spent the last 20 years in the company, Kohli's son Arjun has managed the company's operationf for some years.
