London calling on big data crunch

Digital platforms and publisher alliances will be on the agenda at INMA's 'Big data for media week' in London in February.

INMA says the transforming role of Big Data on news media companies - as cost-saver and value-creator - will be at the heart of the event, being held from February 20-24 by the group's World Newsmedia Network.

Key speakers include Fiona McKinnon (managing director of the UK-based Pangaea Alliance); Shane Murray (vice president of data analytics and platforms at the New York Times); Torry Pederson (chief executive and editor-in-Chief at Verdens Gang); and Shailesh Prakash (CIO and CTO of the Washington Post).

A conference, study tour and idea exchange, the Big Data For Media Conference takes place at Reuters in Canary Wharf from February 23-24, with the data analytics London study tour from February 20-21, and Big Data Idea Exchange at Financial Timeson February 22.
