The RotaJet inkjet web press has been named one of the seven best-designed products in this year's iF Design awards.

The Koenig & Bauer digital press was one of 6400 products from 54 countries judged by 63 international experts.

Awards were celebrated by 2000 guests from 36 countries at the iF Design award night at BMW Welt in Munich on March 9.

The press maker's marketing and corporate communications head Dagmar Ringel says the award is "proof that we are on the right track".

The silver and grey colour scheme is accentuated by a distinctive blue segment with a backlit company logo. Judges mentioned the "uncluttered and ergonomic operating concept, which is immediately approachable to the user".

iF Design awards honour seven disciplines - product, packaging, communication and service design, architecture, interior architecture and professional concept. They are organised by iF International Forum Design in Hannover.

Winning entries will be featured in an exhibition in Hamburg's HafenCity from June 21 to September 16.
