It's Copy School time again in Melbourne, with applications open for the 20 places who will learn from another world-class line-up of creative tutors.

The school - from May 7-11 - is open to aspiring copywriters and sponsored by NewsMediaWorks.

The idea is to encourage the best quality copywriting across all media channels, with some of Australia's leading advertising creative directors and copywriters, and news media executives, passing on their knowledge and experience in a workshop series.

Richards Rose senior copywriter Mark Sharman will again host the team of guest tutors, who give their time for the event. They include:

Copy School will provide participants with a real world brief that will be presented and critiqued on the final morning of the course.

The workshop fee is $250 per student (fully tax deductible) which will be donated to Frontyard Youth Services, which is run by Melbourne City Mission.

The workshops will be held at News Corp's offices at HWT Tower, 40 City Rd, Southbank.

NewsMediaWorks chief executive Peter Miller says the commitment and years of experience of the guest tutors has helped make Melbourne Copy School a great success since its debut in 2015: "The aim of Copy School is to focus on how to create great, effective advertising for brands from some of the best in the business, and it has attracted a range of students from junior writers at agencies to marketers themselves."
