Consistent performance over a decade and millions of copies has helped QIPC/EAE to an upgrade order from one of China's biggest media groups.
Shanghai United Media Group will replace its existing QIPC automation with the vendor's mRC-3D colour register control system, having also updated EAE controls.
Project manager Jian Dai said the old system had been in use for "about ten years", printing around 1.6 million copies every day.
"In those ten years, QIPC automation has proven to be more stable compared to other systems," he says. "The fault margin is very low."
QIPC says the new hardware is a next step in its collaboration and the result of a focus on the Chinese market. With "quite a few" installations already in China, global sales and marketing director Erwin van Rossem sees "great future potential" at Shanghai Media Group and other printing companies throughout China.
"The Chinese market remains very important to us. We can serve new and existing customers perfectly, both from Europe and locally with our agent Pande Graphic Equipments."
The new mRC-3D system will be installed on a Goss Universal press, with 12 cameras controlling colour register. The EAE update includes six new consoles, two Info systems and NetPC.
Jian Dai says he believes the system is maintenance-free and will further optimise the press.
