Italian flexo press maker Uteco has installed its first digital press powered by Kodak's Stream technology.

The Sapphire Evo press at Kinyosha Printing in Ōguchi, Japan prints on both paper and plastics for a variety of mostly packaging applications.

Water-based pigment inks include Kodak's personal care inks certified for skin contact on personal care products and for indirect food contact in the EU and the US.

The web press - equipped with Stream inkjet lineheads and driven by a Kodak high-speed digital front end - supports a maximum web width of 650 mm and a print width of 622 mm to print at more than 150 metres/minute, making it faster than any other digital solution for flexible substrates.
