Healthcare data provider IFA and ppi Media's 'Digital Services by ppi Media' unit are moving to the next phase of a complex digitisation project.

IFA had looked for a partner to automate and digitise manufacturer information workflows, and the two have now defined fundamentals and goals for the project.

The work has been completed in a completely digital environment due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with unit chief Axel Homann saying the current situation had made the start phase "a huge challenge for everyone".

"However, we've ultimately proven once again that successful joint projects are still possible in the current conditions - especially when it comes to digitisation. IFA is a company that is essential to the availability of drugs and medical products, and we're delighted about our cooperation."

Digital Services by ppi Media provides consultancy, assistance and custom software solutions for their digital projects.

IFA - Informationsstelle für Arzneispezialitäten - offers standardised and quality-assured information as a neutral and central service provider for the healthcare system. It collects and maintains financial, legal and logistical data on drugs, medical products and other pharmaceuticals on behalf of healthcare professionals and provides the data as part of its information services.

It is also the organisation which issues pharmaceutical the eight-figure registration numbers for such products.
