Podcasts have finally arrived on Amazon Music for Australian subscribers, nine months after the international launch.

New and original titles are being offered alongside established local and international titles, and can be accessed via a range of sources including Alexa-enabled smart devices. Mobile and browser-based applications will also offer curated podcast recommendations for Amazon Music subscribers.

Amazon Music head of podcasts for Europe, Australia and New Zealand Craig Strachan promises a “superior podcast experience”.

“With this launch, we’re offering customers a convenient podcast listening experience that fits their lifestyle.”

With the ability to use voice functionality, users will be able to access home-grown talent including Hamish & Andy and Shameless, promising the opportunity to be “educated, entertained or inspired”.
