WAN-Ifra is urging delegates to attend its World News Media Congress event in Glasgow next month "because your voice matters".

The event from June 1-3, provides an opportunity to benchmark performance against like-sized publishers, swap experiences in seminars, roundtables, high-level discussions and workshops, and take home the latest newsroom, revenue and publishing ideas.

Importantly however, it's where publishers stand together for media freedom with journalists such as besieged Philippines publisher Maria Ressa.

Topics also include news on innovations in voice and AI from top media labs, advice from revenue and strategy experts, along with opportunities to interact with colleagues from award-winning newsbrands including the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Guardian and The Times.

Among the sessions unique to the Congress are the Third Women In News Summit, and Managing Sexual Harassment in the Newsroom, at which Melanie Walker, director of media development and head of Women in News, will lead a roundtable discussion on sexual harassment in the newsroom and the tools needed to help mitigate and manage instances when they do arise.

Download the programme brochure and install the Congress App for updates and networking. GXpress is a media partner.
