manroland Goss has announced that it is retrofitting controls on a press at Argentinian regional newspaper El Liberal.
While details are currently scarce, the company says the update will enhance technical availability, with the machine be upgraded to "state-of-the-art" PECOM automation and PLC technology.
The project - which includes modernisation of the control system and installation of new drive regulators - will result in higher efficiency and fewer production interruptions. Availability of spare parts availability will also be secured, and the contract includes a full-service package.
Printing unit, section, folder and drive control systems are to be upgraded, with the new network connected to a diagnostic computer improving diagnostic options including telesupport.
manroland's PECOM PressManager recording and data analysis system and a CIP3 interface for presetting of colour zones are additional benefits.
