'Bull' of a palletiser is king of Queens

Two new palletisers will upgrade capacity at the New York Times printing plant in College Point, Queens.

The Schur Winrob III palletisers will join six already installed at the site, and allow two non-Schur systems to be retired.

Executive production director Nick D'Andrea says they have proved as a "reliable working bull" over the years: "Every day, we are distributing daily and Sunday newspapers from the facility and the palletisers have to be able to reliably process bundles weighing up to 20kg with a bundle height of up to 380mm without weakening. The Winrob palletiser manages this challenge without any problems."

The systems will be installed early next year, replacing older equipment of another brand.
