In Guangdong, China, twin conveyors make light work

Ferag has supplied two STR 100 conveyors to serve the Goss Newsliner press installed at Guangdong China Sunshine Media in 2007, reducing the workload for personnel. The standard conveyor system takes products off the 75,000 cph press, delivering them straight to the stackers, with grippers holding the copystream at the folded edge for secure guidance down the line. Products are also transported overhead, enabling a free choice of line routing. One JobWrap underwrapper is located behind each of the stackers to provide protection of the bundles on the way to the point of sale. Ferag says the integrated media concern has experienced rapid growth in recent years. A subsidiary of Guangzhou Daily Press Group, it has played an important role in shaping developments in the Chinese media market, with attractive design and full four-colour printing defining the image of the company’s 50+ daily newspapers and well over 20 magazines.
