Australia's Judith Neilson Institute is providing funding for a new weekly arts and culture site from InDaily publisher Solstice Media.

The InReview subsite launches in February and will be dedicated to reviews, news and commentary on South Australia's arts and culture. It will cover theatre, music, books and poetry, visual art, dance, design and architecture, popular culture, film and television, "and more", drawing on a pool of experienced local contributors as well as giving opportunities to new voices.

Solstice - which publishes InDaily, SALife and CityMag - says the new digital magazine will be sent free to subscribers each Wednesday, promising "the broadest sweep of arts and culture in South Australia".

Editorial director David Washington says the state needs more properly funded and resourced arts and cultural journalism. "InReview will be a community and philanthropy-funded project to support professional, rigorous and broad arts and cultural journalism and commentary."
