America's Local Media Association has cancelled all its in person events until July, switching it New York innovation mission to virtual.

Chief executive Nancy Lane says the coronavirus is wreaking havoc, but "makes what we do that much more important.

"Our communities are looking to us for trusted information during these scary and uncertain times, and we're working on a number of options to help."

Changes to LMA events are:

• The NYC Innovation Mission still takes place from March 23-25, but will be in a virtual format. "We're thankful to our hosts and speakers for accommodating us, and to our attendees for embracing the change with enthusiasm," says Lane.

• The branded content beta group cohort meeting, scheduled for April in Atlanta, has been cancelled, and will be rescheduled later.

• The Digital Summit scheduled for May 11-12 - for which 150 were already registered - has been rescheduled to August 5-6 at the Gleacher Center in Chicago.

• The Chicago Branded Content Innovation Mission, scheduled for June, is being postponed until a new date in Q3, to be announced.

"We'll continue to closely monitor the situation and communicate every step of the way," she says.
