QI steps in with new cut-off controls

Swiss Tamedia unit Centre d'Impression Lausanne has signed for new image-based cut-off controls after support for its existing system became unavailable.

The company will add QI Press Controls' mRC-3D cut-off system to its Wifag OF371 press, which already has QI's IDS-3D colour controls.

Both systems will operate from the same desk.

CIL press department manager Jean-François Ladret says the total solution integrates colour management, register, fan-out and cut-off control. "The company has a very good reputation and we are familiar with their systems," he said.

The investment came with "some urgency" when support for the existing press-supplied system ended.
