The two dailies in the Fort Wayne Newspapers JOA will share new MediaSpan systems
for content management and circulation.

One of the oldest joint operating agreement companies among competing US dailies, the Indiana company is partnered by the Journal Gazette Company – which publishes the Journal Gazette – and the News Publishing Company, publisher of the News-Sentinel.

MediaSpan’s editorial NewsEditPro, online WebManagerPro and CirculationPro circulation systems will be used in a software-as-a-service environment.

Chief executive Michael Christman says the goal was to find the flexibility and versatility needed by the newsrooms and circulation departments: “We also wanted to provide our customers with all the platforms they demand including digital, mobile and print, and the ability to effectively and efficiently manage these processes,” he says.
